Korean War Memorial Park
Daejon, South Korea (2020) - Competition proposal
The project comprises a masterplan for a memorial park dedicated to the Korean War, integrating landscape, architecture, and monumentality into a unified composition. The memorial building is embedded into the terrain, with planted roof terraces extending the surrounding landscape across the architecture. The internal layout follows a clear spatial logic, supporting exhibitions and educational programmes with flexibility and clarity. A sculptural tower, conceived as an expandable vertical archive, anchors the park, its slender structure leaving a light footprint while offering strong visual presence. The site is organised to separate reflective and recreational zones, allowing memorial visits and leisure activities to coexist without interference.
